Example To identify the following structure from the 2002 Mathematics standards:

Standard: Number, Number Sense and Operations Standard (standard #1)
Benchmark: Grade K-2, Benchmark B ("Recognize, classify, compare, and order whole numbers")
Grade Level: Grade 1
Indicator: 4. Count forward to 100, count backward from 100, and count forward or backward starting at any number between 1 and 100.

The identifier would be:

"gg" - Grade Level Abbreviations

"b" - Benchmark Identifier

A single character "A" to "Z" identifying the benchmark within the grade level band.

"nn" - Numbers

All number should be two digits. Numbers 1 through 9 should always be "01", "02"..."09".
